FAQ
With regard to the Fall season, pre-season clinics begin the last week in August. Practices start the first week in September. The first WYSL game is the first weekend in September after Labor Day and games go through mid November. Some teams participate in optional Labor Day tournaments. There are typically no WYSL games on Columbus Day weekend but some teams participate in Columbus Day weekend tournaments. The Spring season resumes in early April and continues through mid June. Games are held on Mother's day and Father's day weekends. Tryouts are in late April/early May for the following season.
Please visit the Volunteers section at the top of the page for more information on roles and requirements. Click on the link to register as a volunteer and follow the directions.
Games are played rain or shine according to the WYSL so please show up to the game unless you hear otherwise from your coach, parent volunteer or SYSC that YOUR field that day is closed. Games are only delayed for 30 min in the case of lightning if the kids are at the field and play will resume if no further lightening is observed.
Please visit the refund policy under the Policies & Guidelines section.

For all questions regarding anything on the field (coaches, playing time, coaching methodology etc), please contact your team coach first before reaching out to Marcus DiBernardo, our coaching provider.

For all questions regarding anything off the field (scheduling, uniforms, programming etc), please contact Cole Penny.
Teams are formed based on the evaluations of the SYSC coaching staff, both during tryouts and throughout the course of the season.
For players already on teams, your performance year round will weigh more heavily than the tryouts themselves. For new players, your tryout performance will be assessed ahead of team placements.
Upon final decisions, teams are then separated based on ability. Each age group may have varying levels, 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D' and so on, depending on how many children in your age group. For U8 players there are no tryouts and teams are formed based on schools.
