Requirements and Responsibilities  of a Parent Manager 



Responsibilities of a Parent Managers 

  • The Parent Managers role is principally administrative, no soccer knowledge is needed to act as a manager

  • Ongoing responsibilities include facilitating & communication amongst your team

  • Coordination of game-day information; time, place jersey color, etc.. all this information is available to the manager through Gotsport or the WYSL website.

  • Printing and submitting team roster to referee; also available through Gotsport 

  • Gather attendance in advance of each game and work with Cole Penny to borrow any players if needed.

  • Work with parents and head coach to register teams for tournaments if desired 

  • The Parent Volunteer should also try to foster team building whether through seasonal team parties or other sorts of events, especially at the beginning of each season.

  • Please note that parent managers are expected to serve this role for the entire seasonal year.

 

Requirements to become a Parent Managers 

  • Register on Gotsport for the manager role - this requirement is done annually and free of charge. Its done online and takes about 5 min.  

  • Background Check - this requirement is done bi-annually and free of charge with the code from the league. Its done online and takes about 10min.

  • "Heads-up" concussion training.  This requirement is done bi-annually and free of charge.  Its done online and takes about 30 min. 

  • Safesport training. This requirement is done annually and free of charge.  Its done online and takes about 90 min.
